Call for papers, short and extended abstract submission

The organizing committee invites colleagues to submit abstracts for oral presentation for the ICAR 2020+2 Satellite Meeting on Camelid Reproduction. The scientific program includes original and review presentations on various aspects of reproduction, genetics and production in New and Old World Camelids such as:

  • a. Male and female reproductive physiology and endocrinology;

  • b. Gynecology, theriogenology and reproductive efficiency;

  • c. Andrology and artificial insemination;

  • d. Superovulation and embryo transfer;

  • e. Cryo-preservation of gametes and other assisted reproductive methods;

  • f. Gestation, parturition and neonatology;

  • g. Mammary gland and milk production;

  • h. Camelid breeding and genetics;

  • i. Interaction between genotype and phenotype;

  • j. Camel behaviour and welfare

Deadline for submission of short abstracts for review (31 March 2022)

All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific and Review Committee and authors will be informed by 1st April 2022. Submissions must be made with the understanding that if selected, authors will provide an extended abstract of 4 sides of A4. These extended abstracts will be published in the Proceedings of the ICAR 2020+2 Satellite Meeting on Camelid Reproduction. Individuals can be co-authors on multiple abstracts, but can only be first author on one abstract. Each short abstract submission should have the following statement on the bottom of the page:

I/we agree, if accepted, to provide an expanded abstract of 4 sides of A4 printed pages (as directed) by 15 May 2022 for publication in the Proceedings of the Satellite Meeting and on the websites.

Guidelines for format of short abstracts

Font type Times New Roman
Title The title should be in bold, font size 12, centered, with no full stop at the end.
Authors Presenting author’s name should appear highlighted by underlining in the list of authors. Author names should be in regular font, as surname followed by the first name initial separated by comma. Author names should be separated by a semicolon. Where authors are from a number of different institutions, the appropriate institution number from the affiliation list should be given as a superscript number immediately after each author’s name.
Affiliations Should be in regular font, centered and include department, institute and country. Each institute should appear in the order used against the author names and show the appropriate superscript number.
Text Maximum length of the text is 500 words. Please use regular font setting and single line spacing. The text should be justified, without hyphenating words at line breaks. Make sure that formulas and special characters appear correctly.

Deadline for submission of extended abstracts for the Proceedings (15 May 2022)

Extended abstracts should be submitted through the website of the conference in standard word document (MS Word) or rtf format.

Page setup Paper size A4, Portrait Orientation; Margins top-bottom 2.5 cm, left-right 3.0 cm text with 1.5 lines spacing.
Title The title should be in bold, centered, sentence case with no full stop at the end.
Authors Presenting author’s name should appear highlighted by underlining in the list of authors. Author names should be in regular font, as surname followed by the first name initial separated by comma. Author names should be separated by a semicolon. Where authors are from a number of different institutions, the appropriate institution number from the affiliation list should be given as a superscript number immediately after each author’s name.

Main text The text should be structured preferably in the following order: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and References. However, other structures are also possible. The text should be justified, without hyphenating words at line breaks. Please make sure that formulas and special characters appear correctly.
Tables and Figures Authors are encouraged to use minimum number of illustrations. The same information should not be provided in both table and figure. Figures and tables can be placed within the text, should be accompanied by a legend and have a reference in the text. Illustrations must fit into the maximum size limit of the extended abstract.
References Please, use only the most important references of the specific subject. All citations in the text must be listed at the end of the paper, according to the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors established in 1979. References should be listed in alphabetical order of the first author’s name. Citations in the text should be given by placing in parenthesis the name(s) of author(s) and the year of publication. Font size of the list of references can be decreased to 10.
